We did a massive harvest and started putting our garden to bed Labour Day weekend👨🌾We were really happy to put together 176 lbs of tomatoes 🍅various winter squash🍈 zukes & cukes🥒eggplant🍆beets🍒potato🥔peppers🌶️ Feed the Need in Durham. White dutch clover makes a great green manure to get garden beds ready for the next growing season. But we're mainly growing it for the the patients at @torontowildlifecentre 🐇 Harvested 10 lbs this week! 🍀 They do so much for our wildlife!🙂   We're getting second chances with zucchini having planted a second, mid-summer crop 🏵️🥒 Bonus delivery of 57 lbs of swiss chard 🌿 assorted kale🥦 zukes 🥒fingerling potatoes 🥔 & tomatoes 🍅 this past week to Feed the Need in Durham🙂We encourage you to help your hungry neighbours.    Acorn squash now ready for harvest!🌰 Scored 76 lbs of winter squash 🍈 zukes🥒eggplants🍆 peppers 🌶️beets🍒tomatoes🍅 & for @ftndurham this past week 😀  Planted sunflowers mid-July here in Southern Ontario for a fall crop for bees and other pollinators🌻🙂🐝  Cute little guy visiting our swiss chard 🐞Gathered up 84 lbs of zukes🥒winter squash 🍈eggplants🍆 kale🥦tomatoes🍅 & swiss chard 🌿for @ftndurham this past week 😀   New venture✨We've been getting into clover foraging and farming to help feed rabbits🐇and other patients at @torontowildlifecentre ☘️About 10 lbs collected so far 😎  Baby spaghetti squash🍈Winter squashes are coming in steadily 😀 Excited to contribute 51 lbs of zukes🥒beets🍒tomatoes🍅eggplants🍆 & winter squash🎾 @ftndurham this past week 🙂  Zinnias are late-season nectar source for many butterflies🌺 especially monarchs on their migration journey🦋Good ones to include in a fall garden🍂😀  Harvest tomatoes 🍅at the breaking stage, when just turning slightly pink. Tomatoes will keep ripening. Avoids risking fruit damage, increases plant yield, & helps prevents vine breakage 🌿🙂  |
