Many thanks to Milestones for their ongoing crayon contributions to The Crayon Initiative! instead of going to landfills, their used crayons will be melted down and transformed into new crayons for kids in hospitals.

DDSB Joins the Cause!

Excited to be launching crayon recycling alongside writing instrument recycling in Durham District School Board schools! Used crayons will go to The Crayon Initiative and be turned into new crayons for kids in hospitals. Used pens, markers, and mechanical pencils will go to Staples Canada and be made into new products by TerraCycle Canada. If your GTA school isn't in the DDSB but is interested in participating, please email [email protected] to get started!

Banking on our environment's future

Big thank you to TD! TD Canada Trust Branch and ATM and TD Canada Trust Branch and ATM will be collecting their used pens! We'll be taking them to Staples Canada for recycling at TerraCycle Canada.

Worms galore!

With the summer heat, the mealworm farm matured really fast, so we had ~16,500 mealworms to donate to Toronto Wildlife Centre this week. Their conservation work is awesome.

Crossing the border!

Got ~288 lbs of crayons across the border to A.C. Moore. Thank you to everybody who contributed! A.C. Moore is donating $1 USD to The Crayon Initiative for every pound of crayons collected until July 27!
